About The Position

The Administrative Assistant performs a variety of administrative and support duties for the Trust Department at First National Bank and its affiliates and their clients. This position requires a high level of confidentiality and works in-office at our main branch in downtown Ames.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Able to effectively and professionally communicate with a wide variety of individuals.
  • Solid basic math skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as an administrative assistant or related role preferred.
  • Associate's degree in office administration, business, accounting, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting trust officers with client meetings, account opening/closing and maintenance including organizing financial materials, address changes, collecting other relevant information, and preparing documents.
  • Assisting trust officers with year-end tax organization including maintaining records with client medical payments, donations, and other tax-deductible expenses.
  • Uses Trust software (MAUI) to maintain client records, scan & file documents, and maintain reports.
  • Assists clients with fund transfers, logging into the client portal, and other services.
  • Performs other administrative duties including scheduling meetings and appointments, greeting visitors, taking minutes, preparing agendas and board reports, preparing and sending correspondence, monitoring and approving reoccurring bills, ordering supplies, and other requests.
