This position assists the principal with the administrative operations of the school. The role requires knowledge of computer software, office equipment, office practices and procedures, and School Board policies relevant to job functions. It also involves understanding district accounting, human resources, and payroll practices. The ability to effectively use business math and basic bookkeeping applications, communicate orally and in writing, schedule time, establish priorities, and work efficiently is essential. The role requires composing correspondence and reports articulately, managing the school office, and taking initiative on projects without supervision. Additionally, the position demands sensitivity and tact in handling constituents' problems and concerns, professional telephone etiquette, and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information. A comprehensive understanding of all clerical positions within the office is also necessary.
