About The Position

The Catholic Children’s Aid Society of Toronto has an exciting opportunity for two students interested in pursuing an administrative career. These positions provide practical, hands-on experience, allowing the successful applicant to work on diverse projects alongside experienced professionals. These roles are designed to help students develop essential administrative and organizational skills within a supportive office environment.

Requirements

  • Between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive);
  • A Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act;
  • Legally entitled to work according to Ontario legislation and regulations (which means you must have a valid Social Insurance Number);
  • Registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year;
  • Intends to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year;
  • Able to work onsite five (5) days a week at the head office located at 2206 Eglinton Avenue East, Scarborough, Ontario M1L 4S7 however, flexibility to work Fridays from home.
  • Currently enrolled in post-secondary program in Administration, Social Services, Human Resources Management/Business, or other academic areas related to Child Welfare;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills in order to establish priorities and work independently (as required) or part of a team;
  • Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills and interpersonal skills in order to work effectively with individuals and groups from a variety of diverse communities;
  • Positive professional manner and team player;

Nice To Haves

  • Passionate about child welfare and supporting vulnerable populations;
  • Fluency in French or proficiency in a second language.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the research of program design and development of program evaluation tools and needs assessments to support service planning and improvement;
  • Collect feedback from service users to inform program development;
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports, presentations, and other documentation summarizing findings and recommendations;
  • Assist with auditing and cataloguing archived materials retrieved from offsite storage (e.g. Iron Mountain), ensuring accurate inventory and documentation;
  • Review, organize, and update records to maintain compliance with organizational standards and data management protocols;
  • Work in a safe manner in accordance with the Society’s health and safety policies and procedures and all relevant legislation;
  • Perform other related administrative tasks to support the department’s day-to-day operations.
