About The Position

The Administrative Assistant, Student Employee assigned to the Office of Student Involvement supports student transition and engagement efforts that promote belonging, connection, and student success. The position contributes to New Student Orientation, LindenFirst, Welcome Home Weekend, and related programs, with a particular focus on commuter, transfer, first-generation, and sophomore students. Although the student employee may have a primary area of focus, the position supports the Office of Student Involvement as a whole and helps connect students with departmental programs, resources, and engagement opportunities.

Requirements

  • Good academic and financial standing with the University

Responsibilities

  • Supports the mission of the University and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellence
  • Models, supports, and holds others accountable to the University’s values
  • Responds to students, employees, visitors, and community members in a timely and professional manner through in-person, telephone, email, and other approved communication methods.
  • Provides routine administrative and operational support according to established departmental procedures and priorities.
  • Prepares, edits, formats, and organizes routine documents, correspondence, communications, and departmental materials.
  • Enters, maintains, retrieves, and organizes information using approved university systems, spreadsheets, databases, reports, rosters, and filing processes.
  • Assists with departmental scheduling, requests, reservations, supplies, equipment, inventory, and related tracking.
  • Assists with departmental meetings, programs, events, and initiatives, including preparation, setup, check-in, materials, cleanup, and documentation.
  • Supports the department or operational unit as a whole and may be assigned related work outside the employee’s primary functional area based on departmental needs.
  • Participates in required training and staff meetings and performs work in accordance with university policies, established procedures, and supervisor direction.
  • Job may require other duties as assigned.
