About The Position

Perform assigned purchasing activities within AptarGroup for raw materials, supplies, and/or corporate/facilities support functions. Act as a central point of contact for specific procurement items/activities and support internal client and supply base requirements. This role also involves front desk and reception duties, greeting employees, visitors, clients, and contractors, answering and routing phone calls, managing visitor check-in procedures, and handling general inquiries. Additionally, provide administrative assistance to leadership and cross-functional teams, manage calendars, schedule meetings, coordinate conference rooms, handle mail, order and stock office supplies, and support employee events and operational needs for the Site Director.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree: BS/BBA
  • 3 – 5 years of related purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated relationship management with third party value add service providers.
  • Demonstrated advancement in responsibility and authority.
  • Proficient with business computing tools including Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Familiarity with SAP and inventory control systems and practices.
  • Understanding of market dynamics and cost drivers.
  • Ability to consistently manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confidence and professionalism in all dealings, both internal and external.
  • Ability to interpret specifications.
  • Ability to read engineering drawing.

Nice To Haves

  • Injection molding and highspeed assembly experience desirable.
  • CPM, CPIM, or CIRM Certification desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day purchasing functions within assigned site.
  • Interface with other functional groups within site to ensure adequate understanding of needs and proper allocation of purchasing resources.
  • Assure supplier adherence to Aptar PO terms/conditions and quality standards.
  • Identify qualified sources of supply and facilitate the vendor setup process on behalf of site.
  • Lead negotiation efforts on new purchase agreements and new supplier contracts, focusing on quality, delivery, cost containment, payment terms, lead-time, and process improvements.
  • Negotiate major purchases and agreements for site(s) as assigned by Purchasing Manager or Site Director.
  • Prepare and generate project budget, objectives, and reporting in support of site objectives.
  • Foster continuous improvement in the purchasing process.
  • Establish and consistently meet cost/waste reduction targets for assigned commodities or services.
  • Interact with Aptar Purchasing personnel from various regions as assigned to coordinate and leverage total spend for goods or services purchased.
  • Review purchase requisitions for necessary approvals ensuring compliance to policies, issue purchase orders, assure supplier adherence to terms and conditions, and foster continuous improvement.
  • Convert electronic purchase requisitions into purchase orders through SAP.
  • Issue purchase orders to suppliers.
  • Aggressively pursue excellence and professionalism in all supplier relationships.
  • Identify process enhancement and savings opportunities in support of specific procurement objectives.
  • Greet employees, visitors, clients, and contractors with a friendly, professional, and welcoming presence.
  • Answer and route incoming phone calls or inquiries with courtesy and efficiency.
  • Manage visitor check-in procedures and maintain a welcoming front-office environment.
  • Handle general inquiries and provide accurate information or direct requests appropriately.
  • Support a seamless and positive first impression for all customers and guests.
  • Provide administrative assistance to leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate conference rooms.
  • Collect mail and correspondence and distribute accordingly.
  • Order, stock and manage office and breakroom supplies ensuring all areas remain organized and fully replenished.
  • Prepare and set up beverages, snacks, and other hospitality items for visitors, candidates, and Aptar executives to ensure a welcoming and professional environment.
  • Assist Human Resources in the planning, setting up and clean up activities for employee events and activities.
  • Work closely with the Site Director to support day‑to‑day operational needs, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and coordinating site activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, including clerical tasks for site director and personnel.
