About The Position

This is a full-time position for an Administrative Assistant Senior in Neurology at Geisinger Medical Center (GMC). The role involves providing advanced administrative support to the department, ensuring efficiency and organization. The position reports to an Associate Vice President / Medical Executive and supports managers and department staff. The role requires maintaining knowledge of various concepts, practices, and procedures within the field and may involve directing the work of others. Daily tasks include managing phone calls, organizing meetings and schedules, preparing correspondence, reports, and presentations, reconciling expense reports, assisting with projects, and providing direct administrative support. The position also handles complex and sensitive operational issues and conflict resolution. Work is typically performed in an office environment, and employees are accountable for job-specific obligations and organizational policies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Five (5) years of relevant experience. Relevant experience may be a combination of related work experience and degree obtained (associate’s degree = 2 years; bachelor’s degree = 4 years).

Responsibilities

  • Providing advanced administrative support to the department.
  • Ensuring advanced administrative activities to provide efficiency and organization to the department.
  • Supporting managers and department staff through a variety of tasks related to organization and communication.
  • Maintaining knowledge of a variety of the field's concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Directing and leading the work of others.
  • Answering and directing phone calls.
  • Organizing meetings and schedules.
  • Producing and distributing correspondence.
  • Preparing reports and presentations.
  • Reconciling expense reports.
  • Assisting with projects.
  • Providing other direct administrative support to the assigned office.
  • Handling complex and sensitive operational issues.
  • Providing conflict resolution.
