About The Position

Meritus Medical Laboratory is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support the daily operations of the laboratory department. This position provides administrative, clerical, and customer service support to laboratory leadership and staff. The Administrative Assistant plays a key role in maintaining efficient office operations, coordinating communications, managing records, and supporting departmental initiatives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of three years of administrative or office experience; additional education may be substituted for experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time-management abilities.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree, vocational training, or other post-secondary education.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare, laboratory, or clinical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to laboratory leadership and staff.
  • Prepare, edit, and maintain correspondence, reports, presentations, meeting materials, and departmental documentation.
  • Answer and direct telephone calls, respond to inquiries, relay messages, and greet visitors professionally.
  • Coordinate meetings, maintain calendars, and assist with scheduling activities.
  • Maintain organized filing systems and departmental records in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail and communications.
  • Assist with payroll support functions, timecard administration, staff scheduling, and departmental documentation.
  • Gather, organize, and manage information from verbal, written, and electronic sources.
  • Exercise sound judgment when handling confidential information and sensitive records.
  • Collaborate effectively with laboratory staff and other departments to support operational goals.
  • Participate in special projects and other administrative duties as assigned.
