About The Position

This is an 11-month position under the Classified Bargaining Unit. The start date for the position is as soon as possible. Under the supervision of the Student Services Department, performs a wide variety of office management and clerical tasks for Adult Transition Services, including facilitating communications between supervisor, parents, and staff; manages files and other systems; collects and analyzes information; prepares oral and written reports; and performs related work as required. Employees at this level serve as an informational liaison between the administrator, teachers, other district personnel, and the general public. Employees at this level are typically the classified employee with the highest level of responsibility for the operation of a primary school, middle school, or comparable office consisting of other classified employees. Employees at this level must exercise a high degree of independent judgment and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Business English, spelling, punctuation, and mathematics
  • Current office practices, procedures, keyboarding, and equipment
  • Use and navigate computer technology with high degree of proficiency
  • Perform word processing and other related software programs
  • Rules, regulations, procedures and functions of the district
  • Office management principles and ability to apply this knowledge to work problems
  • Read, write, and follow oral and written instructions with little supervision
  • Work independently on difficult clerical tasks
  • Perform word processing with speed and accuracy
  • Effectively and politely communicate with students, the public, and other employees
  • Establish and maintain harmonious relationships with students, fellow employees, and the general public
  • Maintain confidentiality in all phases of work, i.e. records, meetings, etc.
  • Complete all district required trainings
  • Three years of related experience (e.g. administrative assistant, health services support)
  • High school diploma or equivalent as required by Oregon Administrative Rules, Oregon Department of Education

  • Must routinely lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and over 50 pounds with assistance

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate access to the adult transition program and communications to students and families
  • Support staff with daily preparations
  • Enter daily attendance for all students accessing ATS
  • Coordinate transportation for students to and from the Heumann Center, CCC, work sites and community outings
  • Maintaining student records
  • Clerical work and supply management
  • Collaborate and support Student Services Department
  • Other duties as assigned
