About The Position

The Administrative Assistant works as part of a team to support multiple Interdisciplinary Programs within the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences. This position is responsible for monitoring multiple budgets, event coordination, and the support of print and on-line communications for program offerings. The incumbent handles the day-to-day activities, supervision of student staff, and is often the first point of contact for visitors. The position provides administrative support to the Interdisciplinary Program directors and faculty. In addition, they provide support for a range of other interdisciplinary minors and majors with event planning, food orders, and room reservations. They also review expense reports and payment requests to be sent to the Morrissey Service Center for processing. The incumbent works with the directors and student services to build each semester’s academic course offerings using Curriculum Management and EagleApps systems. They provides support to students with declaration of Interdisciplinary majors and minors and by entering course overrides. They will respond to student questions about their degree audits and various program requirements.

Requirements

  • One year of previous administrative experience required, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Some occasional evening work may be necessary to support events.
