Performs work that is varied and generally administrative or project-oriented for departmental operations. Independently plans, organizes and completes daily work under limited supervision in a manner supportive of a team environment. Gathers and enters a variety of patient and/or staff information by pulling, preparing, logging and/or filing patient information; maintaining departmental records and files as directed. Participates in maintaining front end operational flow of the practice in daily work. Ability to assess data reflective of the patient status and interpret the information needed to identify each patient’s requirement relative to his/her age specific needs as they relate to the staff position. No breaches in confidentiality. Observed to call patient by correct name. Maintains patient privacy. Demonstrates skill in interpersonal relationships. Appropriately answers questions and provides information and assistance. Appropriately handles inquiries and takes command of the situation to direct the course of events. Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care according to the age of the patients served, including principles of growth and development over the patient’s life span as it relates to the staff position. Communicates well with all age groups. Knowledgeable about practice process as it relates to patient and staff communication. Observes the outcome of process and identifies problem and recommends alternative. Participates in educational and training programs as presented. Performs basic and some advanced administrative functions such as: composing and editing a variety of correspondence and other materials from verbal/written instructions, and processing and/or transcribing documents attending meetings and recording, maintaining and distributing minutes and/or notes. Mentoring and training of new hires. Completes staff and/or patient scheduling duties such as: Maintaining, calculating and compiling basic statistical, numerical and /or computerized reports under manager direction for month end and data analysis. Orienting employees on procedures and process improvements. Composing and editing a variety of correspondence and other materials from verbal/written instructions. Shares knowledge and experience with other office staff. Will serve as mentor to AA 1 positions. Communicates all pertinent information and general environmental information to applicable staff. Performs other duties as assigned; completes training and education as required.
