About The Position

The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is looking for a very professional ready for a full time Administrative Assistant II. This position provides comprehensive administrative support under the direction of a supervisor or administrator. Responsibilities include researching and compiling data for reports and special projects; monitoring expenditures to ensure alignment with budgetary limits; and responding to inquiries from staff and the public. The role involves investigating and resolving complaints or referring issues to appropriate parties, as well as preparing a variety of correspondence.

  • Must obtain ACJIS Certification within three (3) months of appointment
  • Passing a background investigation and a drug test
  • Possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks (if driving is an essential function)
  • Maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training (if driving is an essential function)
  • Maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (if operating a personally owned vehicle on state business)
  • Take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter
  • Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify)

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer working knowledge of computer programs including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Google Docs, Google Sheets and Gmail

Responsibilities

  • General office duties, researches and gathers data for preparation of various reports and special projects
  • Investigates complaints and resolves problems or refers to appropriate area
  • Reviews/monitors amounts expended from the budget to assure that expenditures do not exceed funds
  • Organizes and files confidential documents and records
  • Attends meetings and takes minutes
  • Maintains and operates general office equipment
  • Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
