About The Position

The Administrative Assistant II in the Department of Chemistry provides comprehensive administrative support for Principal Investigators (PIs) and their respective research groups. This role involves managing faculty schedules, coordinating events, supporting academic courses, preparing documents, purchasing supplies, coordinating travel, monitoring budgets, developing and maintaining webpages, and assisting with the processing of group members’ appointments. The position requires anticipating and initiating actions regarding lab and office operations, necessitating in-depth knowledge of Institute and departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of three years of administrative or office experience
  • Exceptional organizational, problem solving, and multitasking skills
  • Attention to detail
  • A positive customer service attitude
  • Ability to proactively manage projects and time
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and visitors
