Under general supervision, performs a broad range of secretarial, administrative, and technical assistance functions for an administrator. This role requires controlling the release of sensitive information and exercising frequent independent judgment within assigned areas of responsibility, with the latitude for initiating action on behalf of the supervisor. Positions in this classification are assigned some combination of duties including compiling information, preparing and processing complex documents such as class schedules, college catalog, master dictionary, curriculum guides, and procedure manuals. It also involves assisting in the development and preparation of reports, board items, budgets, and grant proposals; verifying information and calculations; collecting data and providing research assistance; monitoring budget expenditures; preparing purchase orders and requisitions; preparing, processing, or verifying personnel documents; and potentially functioning as an office coordinator for a college service area. The role may also serve as a liaison, provide technical assistance, attend meetings on behalf of the supervisor, monitor project progress, maintain recordkeeping systems, coordinate activities and events, and maintain knowledge of applicable regulations.
