About The Position

The Administrative Assistant I – Outreach provides general administrative support to a business or academic unit under general supervision. Performs various routine administrative duties daily. Requires a broad understanding of organizational operations and procedures. May handle confidential and sensitive material.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of experience providing secretarial or administrative support or equivalent work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, General Studies, or Business.
  • Experience with department budgets.
  • Experience processing basic financial transactions.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft.
  • Experience with University of Texas at Arlington policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Addresses and resolves routine problems within the business unit; apply internal and external policies and procedures during the resolution of problems.
  • Serves as a liaison between the business unit and internal and external clients.
  • Creates routine correspondence (i.e. letters, emails, course syllabi, etc.): maintains files and records.
  • Manages and maintains department calendars; organizes schedules and meetings.
  • May coordinate one or more of the following: creating invoices; daily deposits, and refunds.
  • May perform one or more of the following: act as timekeeper, maintain student employee schedules, track clerical work for business unit, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
