About The Position

The Orvis School of Nursing at the University of Nevada, Reno is seeking an Administrative Assistant 4 to provide operational and administrative support to the Associate Dean for Strategic Partnerships and Practice and the Associate Dean for Inclusive Excellence and Belonging. As the first dedicated support position for both offices, this role will help establish their processes and day-to-day operations. This position reports to the Executive Assistant and receives work direction from both Associate Deans. Responsibilities are divided equally between the two offices. Supporting Strategic Partnerships and Practice, the position administers the appointment and credentialing process for clinical track faculty and serves as a primary contact for clinical and community partners. Supporting Inclusive Excellence and Belonging, the position coordinates programming, events, and committee activities. For both offices, the position oversees scheduling, travel, account activity, and the supervision of student employees. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, sound independent judgment, and the ability to build effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and external partners. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, exercise sound judgment, and communicate effectively with a wide range of people from faculty and students to healthcare organizations, community partners, and university leadership. Strong experience in administrative operations and event coordination is important, as is the ability to manage competing deadlines without losing accuracy or attention to detail.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education.
  • Four (4) years of progressively responsible relevant work experience including one or more of the following: providing administrative/program support to professional staff and management; performing secretarial duties in support of a manager; coordinating communications between the manager, staff and program clientele; supervision of subordinate staff; researching information from internal and external sources.
  • OR One (1) year of experience as an Administrative Assistant III in Nevada State service.
  • OR An equivalent combination of education and experience.
