About The Position

The University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) is recruiting for a highly organized and service-oriented Administrative Assistant 3 for the College of Liberal Arts, Advising Center. This position will support the Assistant Dean of Academic Success, Academic Advisors and Coordinators. The role includes acting as a scheduler and record keeper for the Courses & Curriculum Committee, and directing and training student workers. Key duties involve email and phone communication, retention outreach, assisting students and advisors with inquiries on processes, deadlines, forms, data, and general questions, scheduling advising appointments, coordinating meeting rooms, travel, and bids, and managing general office operations. This position will also handle search coordinator duties for administrative faculty, including screening, scheduling interviews, and processing HR documents. Additionally, the Administrative Assistant 3 will update college student resource websites, review department websites, manage content, disseminate newsletters, and assist in developing informational materials.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three (3) years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities.
  • OR One (1) year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service.
  • OR An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Responsibilities
