About The Position

The Public Works Department is now recruiting for the position of Administrative Analyst I (Non-Career). This recruitment is anticipated to close on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 11:59 PM OR when 100 applications are received, whichever occurs first. The mission of the Department of Public Works is “to maintain and enhance the City’s infrastructure and environment for the benefit of the public.” The Department’s core services are focused on providing for and maintaining safe and efficient infrastructure for the community, providing for sustainable environmental protection including water quality and waste collection and diversion, and safely and efficiently designing, constructing, delivering, protecting and maintaining services for public facilities and public rights-of-way. The Department has six bureaus: Business Operations, Engineering, Environmental Services, Project Management, Public Service, and Transportation Project Management. The Department has approximately 532 full-time staff positions with an annual operating budget of $250 million and an annual capital improvement program budget of $150 million. The Department of Public Works is seeking a part-time Administrative Analyst I Non-Career to work in the Engineering Bureau - Traffic Engineering Division. The position will provide administrative support for the Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) Program. Non-Career employees are allowed a maximum of 1,600 work hours available over a 12-month period, and are considered temporary, at-will employees who are not typically eligible for benefits. However, non-career employees may qualify for health coverage and sick leave accruals subject to applicable federal and state provisions.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public or Business Administration, or a closely related field (proof required).
  • Two or more years of professional experience as an Assistant Administrative Analyst ( Assistant Administrative Analyst I-II ) or an equivalent position.
  • A Master’s Degree in one of the preceding fields may be substituted for one-year of the required experience.
  • Experience offering specific and substantial preparation for the duties of the position may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support for the Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) Program, including organizing program documents, maintaining files, and assisting with day to day workflow.
  • Processes and review ASE Program data, including citation information, system outputs, and daily activity reports.
  • Track, verify, and update citation records; Identify data discrepancies
  • Review and processes citation protests; Respond to questions and inquiries from residents regarding citations, ASE Program procedures, and general program information.
  • Assist in preparing routine reports and summaries related to ASE program, data trends, and citation volumes.
  • Support coordination with internal staff, program partners, or vendors as needed to resolve data issues or follow up on citation related questions.
  • Perform other related administrative duties as required.
