Summary HII-Mission Technologies is seeking an Administration Generalist to support program leadership and ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations in the program office. This positon will be located in our Newport News City Center office. This opportunity is within Nuclear & Environmental Services, part of HII’s Mission Technologies division. The group supports the Department of Energy’s national security mission through site operations and the cleanup of legacy waste and is positioned to serve the growing commercial nuclear decommissioning market.

Requirements

  • 3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience.
  • Experience providing administrative support to leadership and cross functional teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and collaboration platforms such as SharePoint.
  • Experience handling sensitive information and work with minimal oversight.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate effectively across diverse internal and external groups.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting defense, nuclear, engineering, or other highly regulated programs.
  • Experience supporting senior leadership or program management offices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement administrative processes, office management practices, and systems to improve efficiency of the office environment.
  • Serve as initial “front desk” point of contact for employees and visitors, including answering incoming phone calls and coordinating administrative aspects of visits, tours, and meetings with outside attendees.
  • Ensure adequate and current inventory of office supplies for staff of 25-50 professionals.
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings sponsored by the directorate.
  • Represent the organization inside HII on key administrative matters, maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Manage calendars, meetings, and domestic and international travel for the Vice President and other executives, prioritizing competing demands.
  • Provide administrative support for development of executive reports, presentations, and correspondence, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and professionalism.
  • Represent the organization with the landlord’s agent for operational matters related to leased office space.
  • Provide any other administrative support as required.
