About The Position

AtkinsRéalis, a global leader in engineering and complex project delivery, is proud to contribute to the modernization and rehabilitation of the Îles Maligne hydroelectric power plant, located in Alma, Quebec. This major project aims to ensure the sustainability and energy efficiency of this strategic infrastructure, by integrating sustainable and innovative solutions. The work includes upgrading equipment, improving mechanical and electrical systems, and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards. This project is carried out in EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, Management, and Construction) mode, which involves close coordination between all disciplines. Particular attention is paid to the HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) vision to ensure a safe working environment that complies with the strictest standards. We are looking for a Contract Administrator to support the contractual administration and governance of the project. In this role, you will contribute to the success of a strategic project by collaborating closely with project teams, alliance partners, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with contractual commitments, rigorous application of processes, and achievement of project objectives. Under the responsibility of the Project Procurement and Contracts Manager, you will support the contractual and commercial administration of service, supply, construction, and subcontract agreements at all stages of the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • University degree in administration, construction management, engineering, law, procurement, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in contract administration, contract management, or commercial management on major projects.
  • Experience in the infrastructure, public transit, energy, industrial, or heavy construction sectors.
  • Solid understanding of contract and commercial management principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong ability to interpret complex contracts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
  • Collaborative spirit and ability to work within integrated multidisciplinary teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience on projects carried out in collaborative mode, alliance, EPCM, or PPP is a significant asset.
  • Knowledge of contract and project management systems (Unifier, Aconex, Procore, JD Edwards, Oracle ERP, or equivalents) is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Administer awarded contracts in accordance with project requirements, the EPCI agreement, and applicable governance processes.
  • Prepare, review, and implement contract management plans, procedures, forms, and monitoring tools.
  • Organize and lead contractual kick-off meetings with contractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure follow-up of contractual obligations, deliverables, bonds, insurance, warranties, and other contractual requirements.
  • Maintain updated tracking records related to contracts, changes, claims, risks, schedules, payments, and deliverables.
  • Prepare and issue contractual notices, letters, and official correspondence.
  • Administer change management processes in accordance with established contractual mechanisms.
  • Participate in the analysis of change requests and associated commercial impacts.
  • Maintain change records and ensure follow-up of approvals.
  • Support dispute prevention and resolution strategies.
  • Contribute to the analysis and management of contractual claims.
  • Review and analyze payment requests, invoices, and progress claims.
  • Validate payments in accordance with applicable contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor contractual holdbacks, bonds, and warranties.
  • Collaborate with project controls teams for provisions, commitments, and financial forecasts.
  • Participate in the preparation of monthly reports related to contractual performance.
  • Work in close collaboration with the execution, construction, engineering, project controls, quality, health and safety, and legal teams.
  • Participate in coordination, governance, and contractor monitoring meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, project procedures, and regulatory obligations.
  • Support continuous improvement of contractual processes, tools, and templates.
  • Promote the principles of collaboration, transparency, and integration specific to an EPCI environment.
  • Participate in internal and external audits related to contractual activities.
  • Ensure traceability and quality of contractual documentation.
  • Contribute to the identification and implementation of lessons learned.
  • Participate in the development and improvement of contract management templates, procedures, and tools.
