About The Position

This position is for an Admin Supervisor in Acute Care Admin, working 20-22 hours per week with varying shifts, including every 3rd weekend and holiday. The work week runs Monday through Sunday. The role is eligible for a $15,000 Sign-On Bonus. Heywood Healthcare offers competitive wages, great benefits, and generous earned time off. The salary range for this position is $51.06 - $67.62, with final compensation determined by experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity. The supervisor responds immediately to critical events, adjusts staffing levels, and serves as a clinical and administrative resource for nursing staff. They also assist with conflict resolution, advocate for patients, families, and staff, and support other departments to meet patient needs.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in Nursing required.
  • Current RN registration in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts required
  • Three - four years acute care experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in management and / or leadership role required
  • AHA ACLS Certification (required)
  • Leadership attributes and decision-making skills.

  • BS degree in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responds immediately to critical events
  • Provides leadership and follow – up during critical events such as code blue, code red and code 100.
  • Provides appropriate follow – up (i.e. staff education, documentation, family / staff support, etc.)
  • Adjusts staffing levels to ensure the highest level of patient care.
  • Evaluates staffing needs continuously and adjusts as necessary to meet the needs of the patient for the current and next shifts.
  • Functions as a clinical and administrative resource for the nursing staff.
  • Provides clinical consultation, advice and education.
  • Assists staff with problems.
  • Completes all employee performance evaluations by evaluation due dates.
  • Assists staff with conflict resolution (i.e. staff / physician, patient / physician, staff / staff).
  • Mediates conflict.
  • Reports and communicates situation appropriately.
  • Advocates for patients, families, and staff.
  • Intervenes on patient / staff behalf.
  • Supports patients’ rights.
  • Supports other departments to meet patient needs.
  • Maintains operations of other departments during non-operating hours.
  • Functions as an administrative resource for other departments during non-operative hours.
