About The Position

Manage and coordinate the clinical practice and integrate quality initiatives and process improvement activities. The position is responsible for the establishment and monitoring of key business metrics, tracking and review of projects and integration of new process and quality improvement tools. Also inclusive is providing specialized & knowledgeable administrative and business support for the Director of Genetic Medicine and the Program Director of Genetic Counseling Services. Oversees day-to-day operations of the department, maintaining budgets and reports, directing departmental and interdepartmental projects, coordinates clinical services provided by physicians, genetics counselors, and support staff. Directly responsible for all administrative staff in the department. Works as a liaison between the Genetic Medicine Department and MMI , UNMC , and partners including Nebraska Medicine, Children’s Hospital, Boystown, Methodist, CHI , and state agencies. Oversees the clinical practice of genetics including management of staff and financial performance and support for all healthcare providers. Ensures all clinical staff (physicians and genetic counselors) are appropriately licensed and credentialed. Maintains compliance of all staff with the academic unit and with all sites of clinical practice. Conducts regular staff meetings and annual performance evaluations for the administrative team. Review accounts receivable reports monthly.
