About The Position

The Learning Experience is a premier early childhood education center committed to delivering high-quality care and education. Our mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of children, their families, and the communities we serve. We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Director who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting staff, families, and daily center operations.

Requirements

  • At least 1-2 years of leadership or management experience in a childcare, preschool, or early education setting (required).
  • At least 1-2 years working with children ages 0-6.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Google Suite, and administrative systems.
  • Positive, team-oriented, and passionate about helping children, families, and staff succeed.
  • Creating engaging family and student events.
  • Open to support in classrooms when needed
  • Must be available for most holidays.
  • MUST be available the beginning of the week of Thanksgiving and Christmas. (Closed Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Year Days)

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Article 47 licensing requirements and NYC DOHMH guidelines (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Lead with passion and professionalism, creating an inclusive and supportive environment for staff, families, and children.
  • Greet families, answer inquiries, and support day-to-day center operations with warmth and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with Article 47 and NYC DOHMH standards, maintaining staff and student records, immunizations, and files.
  • Support teachers in implementing TLE's proprietary curriculum and creating an enriching classroom environment.
  • Assist with staff onboarding, training, coaching, and scheduling.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as enrollment follow-up, CORE system data entry, supply orders, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll support.
  • Conduct tours for prospective families and engage in local community marketing to drive enrollment.
  • Assist with planning and running center-wide events, celebrations, and family engagement activities.
  • Step into classrooms as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
