About The Position

The Center for Development and Disability (CDD), established in 1990, is New Mexico's University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service. These centers, authorized by the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act, build the capacities of states and communities to respond to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. CDD Family and Community Partnerships Division, is seeking to hire an Administrative Assistant 3 to work within its administrative operations team. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, and work experience reflecting a substantial history of successful customer service-related administrative employment. Those with experience in purchasing processes (preferably in a university setting) and demonstrated proficiency in database management, including Therap and Medicaid-related systems are strongly encouraged to apply. Past experience providing event and/or travel planning services to professionals will be a definite plus. The ability to communicate and interact with a diverse cross-section of individuals calmly and professionally and articulate ideas in a clear and understandable manner is critical.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated purchasing experience, including ordering supplies and inventory control and reconciliation of purchases, preferably for a large public agency/organization.
  • Ability to utilize complex databases such as Therap, Medicaid or other similar platforms.
  • Familiarity and ability to navigate databases to enter data timely and accurately.
  • Experience in event or conference planning and travel coordination.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively within an operational team.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently and effectively by using good judgment in problem-solving, time management and organization of workload.
  • Intermediate skill level with using the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
