About The Position

Brigham Young University (BYU) is seeking an Adjunct Instructor for Theatre & Media Arts to teach TMA 384R Practicum: Cinematic Skills - Storyboarding in the Evening School program. This position involves teaching a provided syllabus, managing the classroom and digital learning management system, and meeting with students as needed. The instructor will teach on Mondays from 5-6:50 PM. The position requires the successful candidate to relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment. Requirements

  • BA or BFA in film and/or visual media studies/production, or a closely related field, completed by the start date.
  • Two-plus (2+) years of professional experience in storyboarding.
  • Demonstrable understanding of and experience in storyboarding for live action Film, TV, and Media.
  • Knowledge of TV, Film, and Media sets best practices.
  • Understanding of storyboarding’s usage anywhere in the production workflow pipeline.
  • Successful candidate must relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment.

Nice To Haves

  • One-plus (1+) years of university-teaching experience is preferred.
  • Experience teaching outside of university settings.
  • Understanding of similar usage in Animation.

Responsibilities

  • Teach TMA 384 Practicum: Cinematic Skills - Storyboarding, Mondays 5-6:50PM.
  • Manage the classroom and the digital learning management system (Learning Suite, etc.) connected to the class.
  • Meet with students outside of classes as needed.
  • Teach following a provided syllabus, with the option to submit one's own for consideration.
