About The Position

This position involves teaching Psych 111: Psychological Science as an in-person class during the Winter Semester of 2027. The instruction should emphasize critical thinking, scientific inquiry, and real-world application. The role also involves helping students explore how faith and reason can work together in understanding human thoughts, feelings, virtues, and behaviors.

Requirements

  • MS or PhD in psychology, neuroscience, or a related field, completed by the start date.
  • Commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and mentoring.
  • Knowledge and ability to teach foundational principles of psychological science, including history of psychology, research methods, brain anatomy and functioning, biological bases of behavior, cognition, perception and attention, human development, emotion, personality, psychological disorders, health psychology, positive psychology, social relationships, and social behavior.
  • Must relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of employment.
  • Must abide by the university's Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards.
  • Must support and contribute to the academic and religious missions of the university within the context of the principles and doctrines of the affiliated church.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience teaching psychology, particularly an introductory course.
