About The Position

The responsibility of this faculty member is to teach Psych 390R: Exploring Phenomenological Psychology. Our department values belonging, student mentoring, a collegial culture, and the ideals of open and reproducible research. This course will be taught as an Evening Class for the Fall Semester 2026. Class will be held on Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00pm - 5:15pm.

Requirements

  • MS or PhD in psychology, neuroscience, or a related field. The required degree must be completed by the start date.
  • Commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and mentoring
  • Advanced knowledge of, ability to teach about, and an extensive research publication record pertaining to phenomenological, hermeneutic, and existential philosophy and psychology, with particular emphasis on contemporary German and French thinkers and texts
  • Strong background in both qualitative research methods and Continental philosophy of science
  • Relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment
