About The Position

The School of Social Work at West Virginia University is seeking applications for Part-time Adjunct Teaching Positions. The school has a need for expertise in policy, Human Behavior in the Social Environment (HBSE), practice, research, and field courses. The selected candidates will be responsible for teaching courses in both the undergraduate and graduate programs, which may be delivered in-person or online. Applications are accepted year-round and reviewed as openings become available. Compensation is determined on a per-course basis.

Requirements

  • CSWE-accredited master’s degree in social work or a doctoral degree in social work or a closely related discipline.
  • Evidence of effective teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level.
  • Individuals with a doctoral degree are eligible to teach graduate or undergraduate courses.
  • Individuals with a master’s degree are eligible to teach undergraduate courses.
  • Letter of application summarizing teaching qualifications (PDF format).
  • Curriculum vitae, including professional certifications and professional experience (PDF format).
  • Contact information for two individuals who can provide letters of recommendation (PDF format).

Responsibilities

  • Teaching in-person or online courses in the School of Social Work’s undergraduate and graduate programs.
