About The Position

This position involves teaching DESPH 475: Location Production to majors on a part-time basis. The curriculum covers basic camera operation, exposure techniques, principles and elements of composition, visual communication, digital photographic considerations, shooting products in a studio, and interface with Adobe Lightroom. Responsibilities include lecturing, creating assignments, grading, critiques, and communicating with students via email. Part-time faculty are not required to hold office hours, attend staff meetings, serve on committees, or mentor students. This position requires the successful candidate to relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment.

Requirements

• Minimum BA/BS/BFA degree required.
• The required degree must be completed by the start date.
• Experience with communication with college-level students.
• Collaboration with colleagues in a collegial manner.
• Teaching technical concepts requires an efficient thinker with a unique and enthusiastic approach to helping students.
• Must relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of employment.
• All new employees who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be required to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.
• All employees are required to abide by the university's Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards.
• Successful candidates are expected to support and contribute to the academic and religious missions of the university within the context of the principles and doctrines of the affiliated church.
