About The Position

Adjunct faculty will teach a range of courses for the Department of Art, including ART 101 - Introduction to Art and Drawing for Nonmajors, ART 102 - Introduction to Art: 2D, ART 122 - Printmaking for Nonmajors, ART 225 - Printmaking Fundamentals, and ART 321 - Drawing. Courses may be taught during the day or evening. Adjunct faculty are expected to use department-approved syllabi and materials, mentor students, and attend department training meetings in August. An additional curriculum prep and training contract will be created for the selected hire in the month prior to the first semester taught. This position requires the successful candidate to relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment.

Requirements

  • Minimum BA/BFA degree required; Terminal degree (MFA or equivalent) preferred. The required degree must be completed by the start date.
  • Minimum one year of university-level teaching in Art, or equivalent related experience.
  • Attach updated curriculum vitae, cover letter, and Mission Alignment Statement to the faculty application.
  • Relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment.
  • All new employees who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be required to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.
  • Abide by the university's Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards.
  • Support and contribute to the academic and religious missions of the university within the context of the principles and doctrines of the affiliated church.
