About The Position

Brigham Young University (BYU) is seeking an Adjunct Teaching faculty member for the Dance Department, specializing in Cultural Dance. This position involves teaching courses in American and international cultural dance styles, and may include creating choreography and directing performing ensembles. The successful candidate will be expected to support and contribute to the academic and religious missions of the university. This position requires the candidate to relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment. BYU is an equal opportunity employer.

Requirements

  • BA, BFA, or MFA in Dance or Dance Education required. The required degree must be completed by the start date.
  • High levels of experience with American and international cultural dance styles.
  • Must relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of employment.
  • Successful candidates are expected to support and contribute to the academic and religious missions of the university within the context of the principles and doctrines of the affiliated church.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience teaching in a secondary or post-secondary setting.
  • Experience in choreographing and directing a performing dance ensemble.
