About The Position

This position involves teaching intermediate and advanced Mandarin Chinese language courses at the college level. The role also includes managing Chinese Culture Night and Chinese Language Fair activities. Adjunct instructors are expected to adhere to the department-approved curriculum, maintain weekly office hours, and participate in occasional training meetings. The position requires the successful candidate to relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Degree must be completed by the start date.
  • Degree preferably in Chinese language and literature or second language teaching.
  • Must relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of employment.
  • Must abide by the university's Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards.
  • Successful candidates are expected to support and contribute to the academic and religious missions of the university within the context of the principles and doctrines of the affiliated church.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in teaching Chinese as a second language at the college level preferred.
  • Preference given to qualified candidates who are members in good standing of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
