About The Position

Grand Canyon University has an opening for Adjunct Clinical Nursing faculty members. This clinical adjunct position requires travel within the Sun City, AZ area to directly observe student performance when scheduled for clinical rotations. The role involves reinforcing didactic content, teaching knowledge and skills for pre-licensure nursing, collaborating with faculty for student evaluation, and grading written and clinical performance check-offs. Faculty are expected to stay current with nursing trends, maintain accreditation compliance, and uphold the tenets of nursing as a holistic profession and the university's pillars. This includes traveling to student sites, observing performance, and supporting the university program in all areas, demonstrating congruence with the institution's philosophy and direction, and serving the community. Faculty are expected to provide a positive example by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission.

Requirements

  • BSN required. BSNs will be required to enroll in a GCU MSN Leadership or MSN Education program, immediately upon hire, paid for by GCU OR BSN with proof of at least 9 credits/3 classes in any graduate program OR approved national certification related to the content area being taught. Please specify your graduate credits OR national certification on your resume.
  • 2 years' recent clinical work experience in pediatrics nursing.
  • An active, current, unencumbered, and multi-state (compact) RN license
  • Must successfully pass a drug test and competency testing
  • Excellent communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with students

Responsibilities

  • Reinforce didactic content, teaching the knowledge and skills needed for pre-licensure nursing
  • Collaborate with content area faculty to provide expert evaluation and documentation of student progress toward clinical objectives
  • Participate in grading written and clinical performance check-offs
  • Remain current with new trends and development in the specific field of nursing practice
  • Maintain compliance with requirements for program accreditation
  • Uphold the tenets of nursing as a holistic profession as well as the pillars of the University
  • Travel to GCU student sites, directly observing student performance
  • Participate in and/or support of the university program in all areas including an evident congruence with the philosophy and direction of the institution, and service to the community
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University
