About The Position

The Graduate Department of Psychology invites applications for a part-time Adjunct Instructor to teach and supervise doctoral-level Psy.D. graduate psychology students in our counseling psychology practicum sequence. The primary responsibility of this role is to facilitate the weekly practicum seminar, providing intensive clinical consultation, case conceptualization review, and professional development guidance. The ideal candidate will foster a rigorous yet supportive environment that bridges foundational psychological theory with advanced clinical practice, ensuring students adhere to the highest ethical and professional standards.

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, from an APA-accredited program.
  • Licensed in the state of PA
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of post-licensure clinical practice experience.
  • Demonstrated experience providing clinical supervision to graduate trainees, interns, or post-doctoral fellows.
  • Strong foundation in evidence-based treatments (e.g., CBT, DBT, psychodynamic, systemic approaches).
  • Demonstrated commitment to multicultural competence, diversity, equity, and inclusion in clinical practice and mentorship.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a weekly, interactive clinical practicum seminar focused on case presentations, treatment planning, and advanced clinical intervention strategies.
  • Monitor and review students' clinical hours, site evaluations, and competency development in alignment with APA guidelines.
  • Guide students in applying evidence-based practices, intersecting cultural humility, and integrating diverse therapeutic modalities into their clinical frameworks.
  • Ensure all student clinical activities strictly adhere to the APA Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct, as well as relevant state laws.
  • Provide timely, constructive qualitative feedback on student case write-ups, presentations, and formal competency evaluations at the mid-term and end of the semester.
  • Maintain open communication with the practicum site and the Director of Clinical Training (DCT) regarding student progress, site challenges, or remediation needs.
