About The Position

Reporting to the Associate Dean of Pre-Clerkship Education, this role will provide instruction specifically in Clinical Skills for the Physicianship Track. The position involves teaching history and physical assessment, diagnostic testing, and procedural skills, as well as monitoring student progress and assisting with testing and remediation. The role also includes developing clinical scenarios for standardized patient education and simulation.

Requirements

Health professional with a DO, MD, Paramedic, APN, or PA degree.
Clinical experience providing direct patient care in their specialty.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Detailed oriented with excellent interpersonal skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products.
Desire and ability to learn course management software/distance learning technologies.

Nice To Haves

Experience in precepting Osteopathic medical students in a clinical setting.
Experience as an instructor in a clinical skills course or CME course.
Experience with Point of Care Ultrasound.
Experience with Simulation.

Responsibilities

Provide hands-on student training in history and physical assessment, diagnostic testing, and procedural skills.
Assist in monitoring the progress of all students to ensure successful progress toward graduation and recommend disciplinary action when necessary.
Teach in assigned courses.
Assist in student testing, re-testing and remediation as necessary.
Develop clinical scenarios for standardized patient education assessment/evaluation and simulation education/assessment.
Perform other related duties, as assigned.
