About The Position

Savannah Technical College is seeking an Adjunct Practical Nursing Instructor. The adjunct faculty member will provide theory and/or practical instruction to a level sufficient for students to develop the skills necessary to become employed in the healthcare profession. The position also requires the supervision of students during patient care.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with a current active Georgia Nursing License in good standing with Georgia Board of Nursing. License cannot have the following status codes: probation, suspended, expired, lapsed, inactive, pending, renewal pending, revoked, or surrendered
  • Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited, institution.
  • Minimum three (3) years of registered nursing experience within the preceding seven (7) years.
  • Must be flexible to teach day or evening classes and 12-hour clinical rotations on weekdays and/or nights or weekends.
  • Possess current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
  • Possess valid driver's license and proof of insurability.
  • Possess basic computer skills including Word, excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching adults and/or supervising nursing students in a clinical setting.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in nursing from an accredited, post-secondary institution.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare lesson plans for classroom instruction for nursing occupational courses
  • Instruct students, developing program syllabi, goals, and objectives; Develop, manage, and teach classes, delivering instruction both individually and as a member of a team
  • Develop and coordinate curriculum; conduct assessments of all courses taught in the department as requested
  • Complete reports and requests for information from internal and external departments and agencies
  • Ensure compliance with Georgia Board of Nursing standards, rules regulations, and expectations
  • Collaborate with colleagues on common curriculum areas
  • Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by attending staff development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences
  • Follow policies/procedures of Savannah Technical College, to include standards for student- faculty professional relationships/interaction
  • Communicate professionally and in a timely manner with College employees, students, community partners, and visitors
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
