About The Position

Fresno Pacific Biblical Seminary (FPBS) is seeking adjunct instructors to join a collaborative faculty team and diverse student body. FPBS is a learning community that develops kingdom-minded leaders who equip the church and engage the world with the transformative love of Jesus. The seminary offers graduate degrees online and in person, preparing students for pastoral capacities, church leadership, biblical scholarship, and marriage and family therapy counseling. Seminary faculty are known for their engagement with students and communities, particularly in preparing students to serve diverse and at-risk populations. Spanish speaking applicants are highly desired.

Requirements

  • Earned master’s degree or terminal degree in bible, ministry, theology or related field of study.
  • Evidence of significant ministry, missions, or pastoral experience.
  • Experience in working with diverse populations in community-based settings.
  • Evidence of strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work with students, staff, and faculty in a collegial environment.
  • Evidence or capacity for entrepreneurial initiative.
  • Commitment to the Christian faith and the University’s mission of Christ-centered teaching and learning.
  • Involvement in a local church.

Nice To Haves

  • Significant pastoral and/or biblical literature exegetical expertise and the ability to practically apply such experience within course material.
  • Spanish speaking applicants are highly desired.
  • Ph.D., D.Min, or other terminal degree in bible, ministry, theology or related discipline.
  • Graduate teaching experience.
  • Ability to teach or communicate in Spanish and/or Hmong languages.

Responsibilities

  • Teach various courses in bible, theology, ministry, and practical application studies.
  • Develop lectures and experiential application assignments.
  • Assess and grade students.
  • Navigate university learning management systems.
  • Develop syllabi.
  • Select and submit textbooks to the university bookstore.
  • Comply with university student attendance recording procedures.
  • Submit grades in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to university procedures and policies.
  • Discuss class progress with the program coordinator, including teaching performance through observation.
  • Collaborate with other faculty as needed.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to serving and inspiring students in an academic context that integrates Christian faith and learning.
  • Affirm the mission, vision, and values of Fresno Pacific University, the FPU Faith Expectations, and support 'The Fresno Pacific Idea'.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Benefits

  • Compensation based on highest completed degree level: Non-Terminal degree: Anticipated pay per unit $811.51, $23.97 per hour; Terminal degree: Anticipated pay per unit $977.98, $28.82 per hour.
