Adjunct Piano Accompanist
About The Position
The Cline School of Music at North Greenville University is seeking a dynamic Adjunct Faculty member in Piano. Primary responsibilities will be accompanying vocal and instrumental lessons and recitals and teaching secondary piano. Familiarity with keyboard-related technology applications and non-staff based musical styles may provide additional flexibility in the assignment of specific duties but is not mandatory. The ideal candidate should have piano teaching experience, strong music reading skills, and recent professional performance experience. The ideal candidate will be a confident performer who can consistently collaborate in an academic setting and has a genuine interest in helping young musicians succeed as performers and educators. North Greenville University is a teaching university of the South Carolina Baptist Convention and is a tobacco and alcohol-free campus. All NGU professors are expected to be orthodox Christians who have a strong personal faith, are role models in their piety and ethics, are regularly reflecting upon how their faith influences their discipline and are willing and able to mentor students in their own relationship with Jesus Christ. Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in piano or a related music field
- Understand and comply with FERPA regulations
- Support NGU’s mission statement and core values, commitment to a Christian lifestyle and character in keeping with the biblical model
- Piano teaching experience
- Strong music reading skills
- Recent professional performance experience
- Confident performer who can consistently collaborate in an academic setting
- Genuine interest in helping young musicians succeed as performers and educators
Nice To Haves

Responsibilities
- Teach private piano lessons
- Provide accompaniment for student lessons and performances
- Prepare for classes by organizing and becoming familiar with student material
- Prepare lesson plans and course material as required
- Effectively organize and present subject matter to students
- Objectively assess students for academic performance
- Ensure security of assessment tools and confidential documentation
- Effectively utilize Canvas learning management system
- Appropriately maintain student records, grades, and attendance to ensure accuracy
- Meet all university deadlines for syllabi and grade submission
