About The Position

Bergen Community College is accepting applications for adjunct faculty positions in the Department of Biology and Horticulture for Fall and Winter 2026. The mission of the department is to establish a high-quality biological science education for all our students. This includes a commitment to excellence in teaching so that students acquire fundamental biological knowledge for transfer or career pursuits, understand biological concepts in contemporary society, develop critical analysis skills using scientific thought and reasoning, and develop effective scientific communication skills.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Biology or related field.
  • At least one year of college-level teaching experience.
  • Alternatively, two years of high school teaching in biology or three years of professional, industrial, or military experience in a related biological field.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching Horticulture courses.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Biology courses to students.
  • Provide fundamental biological knowledge for transfer or career pursuits.
  • Educate students on understanding biological concepts in contemporary society.
  • Develop students' ability to critically analyze biological data, evidence, and general biological information using scientific thought and reasoning.
  • Develop students' effective scientific communication skills.
