About The Position

This is a Part-Time Faculty Pool for available assignments during the academic year. The position involves teaching and supervising students using approved curriculum, syllabi, assessments, and instructional standards. It requires utilizing effective teaching methods, technology, and educational resources to support student learning. The role also includes assessing student performance, providing feedback, maintaining records, advising students, and supporting recruitment and retention efforts. Participation in curriculum development, program assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives is expected. Maintaining positive relationships with students, colleagues, administration, and the community is crucial. The position requires timely completion of reports, forms, meetings, and institutional responsibilities, as well as participation in professional development to stay current with instructional practices and adherence to Alvin College policies and procedures.

Requirements

Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Mathematics or Mathematical Statistics from a regionally accredited college / university
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, as well as intermediate computer skills.
Familiarity with interactive teaching methods and instruction via the Internet.
Working knowledge of Blackboard course management system.
Working knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI) tools and the ability to use them responsibly, ethically, and in compliance with organizational guidelines.
Requires the provision of official transcripts and/or certifications within (30) days of hire.
Applicants with academic credentials from non-U.S. accredited institutions are required to have their coursework evaluated in terms of U.S. "equivalency."
This position requires a criminal history and/or motor vehicle records check.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree in Mathematics from a regionally accredited college / university
At least one year of teaching experience at the college or university level.

Responsibilities

Complete required reports, forms, meetings, and institutional responsibilities in a timely manner.
Participate in professional development and maintain current knowledge of effective instructional practices.
Adhere to Alvin College policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
