About The Position

Penn State Abington’s Business Program invites applications for adjunct instructor appointments in Management Information Systems beginning in August 2026 through December 2026. Continuation beyond this period is a possibility. The specific courses available are: MIS 250 - Introduction to Problem Solving with Spreadsheet Analysis and Information Systems Management. Classes can be held in-person and via Zoom with an asynchronous web session weekly (50% in person/Zoom, 50% asynchronous web). MIS 431 Business Data Management. Classes can be held in-person and via Zoom with an asynchronous web session weekly (50% in person/Zoom, 50% asynchronous web). Students from other Penn State Campuses may be accessing these courses as well.

Requirements

  • Completed a Doctoral degree in a business-related discipline (preferred).
  • ABD and Masters level candidates will be considered.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduates (highly desirable).
  • Relevant professional work experience (valuable).

Responsibilities

  • Teach MIS 250 - Introduction to Problem Solving with Spreadsheet Analysis and Information Systems Management.
  • Teach MIS 431 Business Data Management.
  • Conduct classes in-person and via Zoom with an asynchronous web session weekly (50% in person/Zoom, 50% asynchronous web).
  • Engage with a diverse student population including racially- and ethnically-diverse students, first-generation college students, students from a range of socio-economic backgrounds, and a significant international student population.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to helping all students succeed through engagement in and out of the classroom.
