About The Position

The Girard School of Business at Merrimack College has openings for in-person Undergraduate courses for Operations Management and Ethics & Social Responsibility for the Fall 2026 semester. The courses are scheduled to start on August 31st and run through December 18th, 2026. The position requires the instructor to deliver the course in-person, on-campus for all scheduled classes. Operations Management (MGT3110) is scheduled for Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 1:15 PM to 2:30 PM. This course provides an overview of the concepts, methodologies, and applications of operations management (OM), focusing on the process of converting resources into products and services and the responsibilities of operations managers in increasing productivity and competitiveness. Ethics & Social Responsibility (MGT3430) is scheduled for Tuesday/Thursday from 3:00 PM to 4:50 PM. This course examines business ethics and social responsibility in light of current challenges, applies varying ethical approaches to leadership and conflicting values, discusses balancing business principles with ethical behavior in various cultures, and includes a significant service-learning project.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in business or related area.
  • Ability to deliver the course in-person, on-campus for all scheduled classes.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check.

  • College teaching experience is preferred.
  • Related work experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Operations Management (MGT3110) course in-person.
  • Deliver Ethics & Social Responsibility (MGT3430) course in-person.
  • Engage students in learning concepts of operations management, including planning, implementation, and monitoring of production.
  • Facilitate discussions on business ethics, social responsibility, and ethical leadership.
  • Apply varying ethical approaches to ethical leadership and the management of conflicting values.
  • Discuss the global issue of balancing principles of good business with principles of ethical behavior in various cultures.
  • Oversee and guide students in a significant service-learning project for the Ethics & Social Responsibility course.

Benefits

  • Minimum: $5,000 per 4-credit course
  • Minimum: $3,750 per lab section
