Adjunct Instructors - Physical Chemistry
About The Position
St. Norbert College is accepting applications on a continuing basis for instructors qualified to teach Physical Chemistry. This pool will be utilized on an as-needed basis. Topics covered include thermodynamics, chemical equilibrium, phase equilibrium, electrochemistry, quantum mechanics, basic spectroscopy, quantum mechanics, and an introduction to chemical kinetics. As staffing needs arise, the dean of arts and sciences will review the pool and contact applicants for interviews. There are also times when adjunct faculty are needed to fill a last-minute void. Requirements
- PhD preferred in Chemistry or a related field.
- ABD with some experience teaching Physical Chemistry may be considered.
- At least five years of professional experience in the field.
- Demonstrated currency in the field at the time of appointment (work experience, publications, licensure, presentations, or equivalent within the last five years).
- Submit a current curriculum vitae and introductory cover letter.
Nice To Haves
- Experience teaching students at the undergraduate level.
Responsibilities
- Teach Physical Chemistry courses covering topics such as thermodynamics, chemical equilibrium, phase equilibrium, electrochemistry, quantum mechanics, basic spectroscopy, and chemical kinetics.
- Fill last-minute voids in teaching schedules as needed.
- Maintain currency in the field through professional experience, publications, licensure, presentations, or equivalent within the last five years.
