About The Position

St. Norbert College is accepting applications on a continuing basis for instructors qualified to teach Physical Chemistry. This pool will be utilized on an as-needed basis, and applications will remain active for up to two years. The topics covered include thermodynamics, chemical equilibrium, phase equilibrium, electrochemistry, quantum mechanics, basic spectroscopy, quantum mechanics, and an introduction to chemical kinetics. As staffing needs arise, the dean of arts and sciences will review the pool and contact applicants for interviews. There are also times when adjunct faculty are needed to fill a last-minute void.

Requirements

• Master's degree or higher in Chemistry or a related subfield.
• At least five years of professional experience in the field with demonstrated currency within the last five years (work experience, publications, licensure, presentations, or equivalent).
• Ability to teach undergraduate-level students.
• Submit a current curriculum vitae and introductory cover letter.

Nice To Haves

• PhD in Chemistry or a related field.
• Experience teaching undergraduate students.
• ABD status with some experience teaching Physical Chemistry may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Teach Physical Chemistry courses, covering topics such as thermodynamics, chemical equilibrium, phase equilibrium, electrochemistry, quantum mechanics, basic spectroscopy, and chemical kinetics.
• Fill in for last-minute voids in teaching schedules as needed.
• Participate in interviews as opportunities arise.
