About The Position

Designs and delivers instruction in primarily undergraduate courses offered by the School of Arts and Sciences. Participates in all department, various schools, and University-wide tasks and activities. Disciplines include: Art, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, English, Geology, History, Mass Communications, Mathematics, Music (History/Theory/Applied), Paralegal Studies, Political Science, Psychology, Religion (Interfaith, Comparative and Christian Studies), Sociology, Spanish, Theater.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or higher in the respective discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching at the undergraduate level.
  • Strong knowledge of current research in the respective discipline.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adhere to university policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Ph.D. in the respective discipline.
  • Experience with online course delivery.
  • Experience with curriculum assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares lessons and delivers instruction primarily for undergraduate courses.
  • Adheres to the faculty handbook and faculty guide.
  • Meets classes for the required time and days in accordance with policies established for class schedule.
  • Holds required office hours, keeps attendance, submits contracts, book requests, syllabi, grades, evaluations, and other required paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
  • Remains knowledgeable of current research activities in respective discipline by reading journal articles, attending conferences, and maintaining relationships with other fellow researchers.
  • Participates in curriculum assessment.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Dean or Department Chair.
