About The Position
Daemen University is seeking a part-time instructor for the Fall 2026 semester to teach one section of the undergraduate course, Psychology of Mental Illness. This 200-level course is designed for psychology majors, minors, and non-majors. The curriculum surveys the origins, symptoms, and treatment of various mental illnesses as outlined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.
Requirements
- Master's degree required.
- Prior experience teaching undergraduate students required.
- Teaching experience in an equivalent course or courses with similar content.
Nice To Haves
- ABD/Ph.D. preferred.
Responsibilities
- Teach one section of the Psychology of Mental Illness course.
- Survey the origins, symptoms, and treatment of various forms of mental illness.
- Utilize the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders in course content.
