About The Position

Global University Systems (GUS) is an international education group that empowers students to transform their lives through education. Avila University Arizona is seeking dedicated and qualified Adjunct Instructors to join its faculty in Goodyear, Arizona. As an Adjunct Instructor, you will teach online and hybrid graduate courses. The ideal candidate possesses strong industry experience and technical proficiency in selected fields and is passionate about mentoring adult learners in accelerated graduate programs. When applying, candidates should specify in their Cover Letter which subject areas they are applying for. Successful candidates will be added to the adjunct faculty pool, and teaching assignments for upcoming terms, which run through October 2026, will be distributed from this pool based on course availability and enrollment. Subject areas include Artificial Intelligence, Data Science & Analytics, Project Management & Operations, Healthcare Administration & Health Informatics, Data Science, Analytics & Business Intelligence, and Core Business.

Requirements

  • Doctorate in the related field.
  • A master’s degree with significant (10+ years) professional industry experience in the subject area will be considered in lieu of a doctorate.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience applying subject concepts in a business or research setting.
  • Candidates applying for PM & Operations must have a valid PMP certificate.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex management concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to facilitate virtual team simulations and guide students through conflict resolution and negotiation scenarios.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and time-management skills.
  • Familiarity with working on real-world business datasets and solving industry-specific problems.
  • Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to schedule a number of activities, meetings, and/or events.
  • Ability to gather, collate, and/or classify data.
  • Ability to use job-related equipment.
  • Flexibility to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality online and hybrid instruction using in-person, synchronous and asynchronous methods.
  • Utilize best practices in teaching for online, accelerated adult graduate programs.
  • Employ effective teaching strategies that accommodate diverse student abilities, professional backgrounds, and learning styles.
  • Integrate real-world business datasets and industry case studies into course curriculum to ensure practical applicability.
  • Assist students in navigating challenges encountered during their coursework, providing actionable feedback and solutions.
  • Foster a collaborative learning environment where students are encouraged to reflect on their technical practice and innovate.
  • Collaborate with university faculty and program directors to ensure curriculum alignment with current industry trends in the subject areas.
  • Participate in faculty meetings and professional development activities to stay updated on best practices in STEM education and emerging AI technologies.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance expertise in instructional technologies, instructional methods, and assessment practices.
  • Stay informed about current research and trends in the subject area, incorporating relevant knowledge into course content.
  • Maintain accurate records of student grades, project evaluations, and attendance within the university’s learning management system.
  • Ensure compliance with university academic standards and accreditation requirements.
  • Assist in the coordination of programmatic assessments to monitor the effectiveness of the curriculum.
