About The Position

Qualified instructor to teach weekly private music (voice) instruction for 8-10 college students for the academic year 2026-2027. Sessions are 30 minutes each and can be scheduled as either in-person or via online methods. In this sequence of courses (Voice 1-8), students move from cultivation of a well-produced vocal tone through employment of technical exercise and study of simple literature. Later studies consider more advanced literature in foreign languages, interpretation, comprehensive musicianship, and public performance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma with at least two years related experience and/or training
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Knowledge of Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree or higher is desired, but alternate experience will be considered as well.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Directs small ensembles as identified by faculty
  • Creates musical arrangements as directed by faculty
  • Maintains an inventory of music and equipment for the program
  • Works with the Office of Student Success to assist with academic support for undergraduate music majors
  • Assists music faculty and the Office of Admissions in student recruitment activities for the music program
