About The Position
Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) is seeking part-time Adjunct Instructors for its School of STEM-Career. MVCC is committed to providing accessible, high-quality educational opportunities and fostering student success. The college seeks candidates with an understanding of its mission, teaching experience in a comprehensive community college, a focus on student success in a learner-centered environment, and a willingness to utilize technology for learning and assessment. The School of STEM-Career is looking for instructors to teach courses in various disciplines including Electrical, Mechanical and Civil Engineering Technologies, Electrical Service Technology and Mechatronics, Metal Fabrication, HVAC/R, Carpentry and Masonry, and Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems / Geographic Information Systems. Adjunct faculty will teach contracted classes, which may be delivered in traditional, virtual, or hybrid formats, and may include daytime or evening assignments. Specific assignments will be based on academic qualifications, availability, and school needs.
Requirements
- Must reside in New York State
- Ability to work on campus as required
- Official academic transcripts required upon hire

Responsibilities
- Facilitate classroom instruction
- Teach assigned class in accordance with the learning objectives
- Develop and maintain syllabus materials
- Evaluate student performance
- Maintain grades, enter midterm and final grades
- Respond promptly to student inquiries
- Maintain attendance records according to MVCC standards
- Integrate current and emerging instructional delivery technologies into the learning process
- Maintain professional standards that protect student confidentiality
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing using discretion, patience, and courtesy
