About The Position

The College of Integrated Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at Rock County is seeking one or more adjunct Mathematics instructors to teach courses in Fall 2026 and Spring 2027. Candidates available to teach 50% FTE or more may be considered for a salaried Lecturer title instead. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until all positions are filled. This will be a fixed-term appointment. Reappointment for subsequent terms is dependent upon the needs of the University, funding, staffing requirements, enrollment, and external forces. Courses that are to be taught throughout the academic year will be from the following: MAT 091 and MAT 095 – Elementary Algebra, MAT 103 - Beginning and Intermediate Algebra, MAT 108 – Quantitative Reasoning, MAT 110 – College Algebra, MAT 113 - Trigonometry, MAT 210 – Topics in Finite Mathematics, MAT 221 – Calculus and Analytic Geometry I.

Requirements

  • A master's degree in mathematics
  • A master's degree in a related field and 18 graduate credit hours in mathematics
  • A master's degree in a related field and strong evidence of teaching mathematics
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain work authorization throughout the employment term.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching developmental and lower-division college mathematics or co-requisite support courses.
  • Experience using learning management software to deliver courses.
  • Ability to interact respectfully with people with diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in Fall 2026 and Spring 2027.
  • Teach MAT 091 and MAT 095 – Elementary Algebra.

  • Teach MAT 221 – Calculus and Analytic Geometry I.
  • Be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training and drills.
