About The Position

The Frank W. and Sue Mayborn School of Journalism seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor pool and welcomes applicants at any time. This posting is for the Fall 2026, Spring 2027 and Summer 2027 semesters. The specific courses involved may vary from semester to semester and openings to teach these courses develop on a periodic basis, depending on department teaching needs. The anticipated need is for: News Writing – Introductory and Advanced Photojournalism – Introductory and Advanced Broadcast – Introductory and Advanced Magazine Writing and Publishing – Undergraduate and Graduate Race, Gender & Media; Sports, Food, Music and Opinion Journalism Digital Media for Journalists Law & Ethics

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field
  • at least 10 years of direct professional experience in media.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in journalism or related field
  • three years full-time experience in media and/or college teaching.
  • Experience teaching online classes is a plus.

Responsibilities
